Glagolitic alley is on the road from Roč to Hum, the smallest town in the world. 45.8 km distant from Villa Marija Klara**** is this most important monument erected to the Glagolitic culture of Istria and Croatia. Glagolitic alley was constructed from 1977 to 1985, as a project of the Cakavian Parliament, whose conceptual beginner was Zvane Črnja, and was designed by Professor Josip Bratulić and sculptor Želimir Janeš. Alley testifies about Istra and Croatia’s medieval Glagolitic literature. It consists of a total of 11 individual monuments. An ideal destination for walking in nature and afterward a typical Istrian lunch or dinner in one of the nearby Istrian taverns.
